High Point Village Opens 15 and the Mahomies Field

Published June 27, 2025

LUBBOCK, TX—High Point Village hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. This ribbon-cutting marked the opening of the 15 and the Mahomies Field at Tankersley Legacy Park. Thanks to the generous support of the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, High Point Village opened a junior-size soccer and flag football field. The 15 and the Mahomies Field is the latest addition to the Tankersley Legacy Park that opened in November 2024 and includes a walking trail, basketball court, bocce ball court and pickleball courts.

“We are super excited about this field and what it will bring to better the lives and fitness of our Villagers. The field gives us the opportunity to practice for more Special Olympic events, like soccer and flag football. I’m pumped to have soccer matches, teach the Villagers how to bear crawl and how to throw a perfect behind-the-back pass, just like Patrick Mahomes.” said High Point Village Fitness Coordinator Joshua Kuhnley.

The 15 and the Mahomies Field is sure to be the perfect space for the Villagers to develop their skills for Special Olympics, move their bodies while enjoying time with their friends and engage with the Lubbock community.
